Background and Description
It all started with a telephone call in the summer of 1999, it was from a fellow
Ex member of (Krazy) the band with whom we had both been professional during most of the seventies and toured extensively both in our own right and as support to many of the big names of that era!
It was to ask me if I was interested in reforming for a Y2K concert to be held in Manchester.
To be honest even though I still played for fun the thought of getting together again after many years with such accomplished musicians made me feel quite apprehensive but after several years of touring together with all the usual stories (not just wearing the T-shirt but actually making it) I decided why not! And the next chapter began.
I discovered that although after moving to the north east of Scotland in 1978 and starting my own company, raising two sons etc, the buzz of performing live music with talented musicians still touched a place in my soul that was very special.
Ten years later and after another journey I find myself in the company of some of the most talented and dedicated musicians I have ever had the privilege to work with who have the enthusiasm and work ethic to succeed! (See band profile).
Our last C.D. was recorded “LIVE” in our own studio this means that we now have a back catalogue of not only covers but also our own material!
The name Burlesque came from the fact that we take you on a musical and visual journey from the 60s to the present day whilst keeping the dance floor full!
This is reflected in the way the band dresses for each set, and perform the music we have chosen as it crosses all genres from soul, disco, motown, funk, rock & pop, taking you on a musical journey from the sixties right up to date. We really enjoy what we are doing and this is picked up by the audience.
The mix of ages and various musical influences within the band are blended into a unique sound and performance which is Burlesque!

We wanted to drop you a line to send you a big thank you for providing the entertainment at AVC’s 30th Anniversary celebrations. I’m sure you’ll agree the evening was a huge success, enjoyed by our vip guests, and staff. We were also overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone on the evening, we raised over £14,000 for two local charities Diced Cap and CLAN, far exceeding our expectations.
