Background and Description
Playing classic rock, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, Motown, Scottish and Celtic rock, Beggars Opera were formed five years ago, by the four main members of the band, which between them have some ninety years experience in the business, as band and session players with international artistes. They have worked in some of the best venues in the country as well as appearing on Recordings, TV shows and Royal Command Performances.
They have worked tirelessly to perfect their unique sound. The band now specialize in Wedding and Corporate functions and are normally booked as a four piece band playing a hand picked selection of music certain to get any event or party off with a swing. The band can be also be booked as a six piece band (incorporating an extra guitar/vocalist and keyboard player/vocalist ) for special events / theme shows and a ten piece band ( incorporating four brass players as part of our package shows (details on request) also as an optional extra they can also provide a Disco, or a Piper.
Where are they based?
The band are based in Lanarkshire but regularly play throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Full Mackie system can range from 800 watts – 10,000 watts.
We also have a choice of mixing decks, Mackie onyx 24 channel concert deck, 16 channel Spirit deck. Decks are used according to the space available.
Extras
The band always like to use lighting and have set-ups to suit different size venues.
At this point in time our lighting is basic par cans and can range from a couple each side of the stage to a full rig of 34 lamps. We have a smoke machine and a hazer machine, both are suitable for indoor venues and only use recommended non- toxic fluids.
